I know we're in the midst of NYFW and the Spring Collections thus far have been ahh-maze-ing (hello, Marc Jacobs?!), but aren't you still yearning for Fall? I love the smells, the coolness in the air, and all the luxe colors- cinnamons, aubergines, mochas! Nanette Lepore owned Fall at its best and showcased saturated Fall hues and festive autumnal plaids. She stepped up the glam with sequins in cardis and skirts and made sure her looks were all perfectly accessorized with snazzy booties and fashionable, yet functional legwear. Fantastical Fall, don't you agree?

DKNY kept true to its brand image and delivered a collection that was both city and chic.

It was all about the layering with dressed up hoodies under blazers and over button-ups

An array of army chic colors ran the show from khakis to greys in straight-edged silhouettes to combat worthy socks

And as for any urbanite, a bit of the unexpected came into play with bright pops of color

Fall Fashion Runway Review {Menswear: Burberry Prorsum}

Okay, fellas. I see I have so shamefully neglected you in our Fall Fashion Features. Obviously I'm biased to women's wear, but a well-dressed lady looks even better beside a well-dressed man. And believe it or not, sometimes we like it when you trade in your t-shirt and jeans for something a little more sophisticated. Today we look to Burberry Prorsum for just that. The Fall collection featured structured silhouettes, the classic button-up, straight leg pants, and form fitting sweaters complemented by an edge of ruggedness in the form of major boots and strong statement outwear.
The overall theme: Military. Here are the looks that marched down the runway...

Hard-edged Army Inspired Jackets

Serious outwear, notice the fur, for battling any kind of weather

And ornamental epaulets fit for any decorated uniform on jackets to sweaters

Found on the feet of nearly every model were major boots that might as well have been lace-up combats. And don't forget, a great boot would only be complete with the right footwear (all-weather socks for sure)- I bet these studs are prepared for any obstacle, and if not, at least they look the part.

What? That's right folks! The baby jegging is here and whatever may be lurking in that stroller cruising (or shall way say strutting) down the sidewalk just might be more on-trend than you. The baby jeg has been spotted at the Gap, J.Crew, and even Ralph Lauren and is fast becoming a trend for all ages. If I had the baby bug (which may be years away), or a baby for that matter (which may be as far as decades away), I must admit there would definitely be a mini-me running around rockin', or at least crawlin', the skinny. The last time I checked flesh colored tights were a relic of the past, something you could only spot on the dowdy and those frozen in fashion's past. The last time I spotted such a pair was on a particularly muggy, stifling day under a pair of jeans shorts. Jean shorts for gosh sake's?! Could you think of anything more uncomfortable? But according to Allure and Fashion My Legs, nude is becoming a necessity. "Retailers report that sales of natural shades in general have soared" and celebrities from the likes of SJP to Beyoncé have been spotted rockin' the nude. Even France's First Lady, Carla Bruni, (former supermodel turned sultry songstress) has taken note. Who knew nude could be new again? Will you be going nude this Fall?

At Betsey Johnson, it was all about fishnets, fishnets, fishnets. The designer who's known for her funky, playful designs layered on the prints, patterns, and pop colors from pink to red and yellow! Big city living has always been my thing and high on my list of reasons why are street markets! You never know what treasures you may come across on cluttered street carts. Sometimes you find nothing at all, which is fun because sometimes it's more fun to try on that ridiculous hat than to buy it, but other times you just might find your next wardrobe staple. I recently bought my first pair of Spanx for a grand birthday fête at which I decided to don a LBD. I'm anywhere between a size 4 or 6 and have been true to my beach body workouts, but the said LBD was literally LITTLE. Breathing and eating are essential to a good time (and to life in general, hello?!) and neither can be done while trying to suck it in SO I decided I was in dire need of my first pair of Spanx. One word to describe this wonder(leg)wear: MIRACULOUS. I truly believe in Spanx and their magical slimming powers so when I found out that they produce a line of swimwear too, I immediately had to check it out!

Have you seen Vanity Fair's latest cover? It's a perfect image of why I love the World Cup for more than one reason. If you haven't seen it, two of the world's biggest soccer stars are sporting nothing more than patriotic boxer briefs, six packs (hello!), and I'm guessing some high performance soccer socks!

According to about-soccer.com, "Good soccer socks have microfiber or "stretch" fibers blended with acrylic. Modern fibers make better socks, because of their moisture-wicking characteristics. Old-fashioned soccer socks, made primarily of cotton, polyester and elastic, will hold perspiration, increasing the chance of blisters from rubbing. The better soccer socks also come with a cushioned footbed: some have elastic bands that keep the socks snug around the ankle and at the top of the sock. Elastic may also be provided to give additional support to the arches."

This is all fine and dandy, and I agree good socks are extremely crucial, but when you look like the above, who's looking at socks anyways? All I have to say is, "Ole! Ole! Ole! Ole!"
